Mollanazar (2001) says:

"A good translation is one which conveys the same message accurately , naturally and clearly"

دلی فیتس  (Duddly Fits) می گوید:

"ترجمه خوب عبارت است از نزدیک‌ترین معادل در زبان مترجم برای مطلب مورد ترجمه، با حفظ مشخصات متن اصلی تا آنجا که ظرفیت زبان اول ایجاب کند و عجیب و دور از ذهن ننماید."

موریس نادو (Maurice Nadeau ) معتقد است:

« یک ترجمه خوب در درجه اول باید ترجمه گون نباشد، به عبارت دیگر مترجم با سلاست و روانی و حفظ کیفیات متن اصلی آن را به زبان دوم برگرداند"

نورتروپ فرای (Northrop Frye ) می‌گوید:

" ترجمه  خوب آن است که مفاد متن اصلی را بازگو کند. نوع دیگر ترجمه نیز وجود دارد که خلق دوباره متن است و بنابراین می‌‌توان آن را اثری مستقل و جداگانه محسوب کرد».

ارنست سمیونز (Ernest Simmons ) نیز می‌گوید:

« ترجمه خوب، ترجمه‌ای است که مفهوم و پیام متن اصلی را به علاوه فرم (شکل بیان) تا سر حد امکان حفظ کرده باشد».

طاهره صفارزاده می گوید یک مترجم خوب آن است که دارای چند ویژگی باشد :

1- مفهوم متن اصلی را برساند .

2- لحن نویسنده در آن حفظ شده باشد .

3- مترجم زبان خاص و متناسب را دریافته باشد . ( سبک )

4- واژگان درست و دقیق را انتخاب کرده باشد .

5- متن ترجمه شده از نظر دستوری با متن اصلی تطابق داشته باشد.

6- در برگرداندن جملات طول کلام نویسنده رعایت شده باشد .

7- به علایم نگارشی و نقطه گذاری توجه شده باشد .

یوجین نایدا  ( 1974)   می گوید :

«ترجمه خوب ترجمه ای است که در آن مترجم توانسته باشد برای متن زبان مبدا نزدیکترین و مصطلح ترین معادل را در زبان مقصد بیابد . در چنین ترجمه ای نخست انتقال درست معنا مهم شمرده می شود و سپس رعایت سبک ».

Dryden ( 1631-  1700)  says :

a . the translator  must  understand the  language of the  author.

b . the translator  must  be familiar  with the author"s thoughts.

c . the translator  must  look into  himself to  conform his  genius to that of the author"s .

d . if the  thoughts  in the translator"s  language and those of the author"s are identical, then  rendering would occur smoothly.

e . if the thoughts in the translator"s language and those of the author"s are not identical , then  redressing is required .

اگر بخواهیم مجموع نظرات گفته شده درمورد یک ترجمه خوب را به شکل خلاصه در آوریم باید  بگوییم که یک ترجمه خوب باید از دو ویژگی برخوردار باشد :

1- ترجمه خوب باید دارای دقت / صحت (accuracy) باشد، یعنی ترجمه باید دقیق باشد و دقیقآ همان معنا ، مفهوم ، سبک و لحنی را داشته باشد که متن اصلی دارد .

2- ترجمه خوب باید از سلاست و روانی (fluency) برخوردار باشد ، یعنی باید  روان و طبیعی باشد و به اصطلاح جملات آن مصنوعی نبوده و بوی ترجمه نداشته باشد . به عبارت دیگر زمانی که یک گویشور زبان مقصد آن ترجمه را می خواند  آن را به عنوان یک نوشته طبیعی در آن زبان قبول داشته باشد .

معمولآ صحت یک ترجمه را یک گویشور زبان مبدا می تواند بسنجد و روانی یک ترجمه را یک گویشور زبان مقصد تعیین می کند .

تمرین:

در اینجا جملاتی از صاحبنظران در مورد ترجمه نقل شده است . ضمن مطالعه­ی این جملات آنها را به فارسی برگردانید.

-«something new must be added to translations to accommodate for inevitable losses »        (Steiner, 1966)

-« some translators ,  having faced  the  intolerable  atrocities and having been  tired of the injustices of their own  communities , have  found tranquility in translation to keep themselves away from the tormenting  currents . Julia Zulawski?s statement is interesting ? « In 1950, I started translating to run away from our century for a while ».  This statement implies that you do not have to satisfy others ? curiosities but your own desire is sometimes a priority«          (Mac Shane, 1971)
